PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
The Certified Nursing Assistant course provides the student with the necessary skills to seek empl oyment in long-term care facilities as Certified Nursing Assistants. Emphasis is on basic principles of nursing, development and application of nursing skills in long-term care facilities. Upon completion of the Nursing Assistant program, course the student will receive a Certificate of Course Completion and is eligible to take the State of Florida, Department of Health Services written and practical examination to obtain a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant and graduates will possess the skills and hands on experience to become entry level Nursing Assistants.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Nursing Assistant program is designed to train students in all of the relevant aspects of long term patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Completion of this program prepares them to sit for Certification as a Nursing Assistant. Students will demonstrate their skills base in a 40 hour clinical practice.
The CNA course is based on a ten week time schedule i.e. 8 weeks of in class work and 2 weeks for break. Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class.

Reminder:
CNA's are responsible for keeping track of all in-service hours. The 9 mandatory topics must be completed in 2009-2010, before you can renew your certification with the state, by TBA. Renewal notices will be mailed from the State starting sometime in August or September. CNA Renewal fees are going to be on a:
2yr renewal for $50.00 or
3yr renewal for $81.00
